May the Fourth Be With You, Spoonlicker!

A long time ago, in a galaxy (of spoonlickers) far far away… The Empire ruled with an iron fist. They spread fear and terror across the galaxy. But there was hope. Chewbacca and his BFF the Brownie Beast teamed up with the rebels. Many were injured and Chewbacca had lost all his strength but Brownie Beast made the ultimate sacrifice. He gave his life to feed Chewbacca in his time of need. Supercharged with Doughp power, Chewbacca defeated the empire and freed the galaxy! 

Today, we honor Chewbacca and his BFF, Brownie Beast, who so nobly gave his life. Luckily, for you, there is plenty more of Brownie Beast! Celebrate Star Wars day with us and devour some delicious cookie dough! Keep reading to find out the latest developments of Star Wars shows, movies, and more! 

This year we have seen the release of The Book of Boba Fett (The Mandolorian season 2.5) and the immensely popular game Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. Let’s talk about what fans can expect this year!

Obi-Wan Kenobi will release the first two episodes of the limited mini series on May 27th on Disney+. We are so excited to see Ewan McGregor reprise his role as Kenobi. He is just about the right age for the part, as the show takes place after Revenge of the Sith and before A New Hope. Darth Vadar has sent his inquisitors out to get the remaining Jedi, and they are bound to find Kenobi. We may even see the rematch between Kenobi and his former apprentice! 

Next up is Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2, a spin-off of The Clones Wars animated show. Season 2 was initially anticipated to be released in the Spring of 2022 and then moved to May 4/5th but has been delayed. We expect it to come out very soon after the Kenobi show ends because Andor is supposed to come out in the Fall of 2022. 

Andor is a new series based on the rebel spy Cassian Andor from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Cassian dies at the end of the film, so the show will be based on his adventures before the events of Rogue One around the same time as the Obi-Wan Kenobi series and Rebels animated show. 

Lucasfilm/Disney will want both live-action shows, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Andor, to perform well and will not want to distract fans with the animated show. 

The Mandalorian Season 3 will release around Christmas time to close up the year. Don’t be surprised if the show is delayed and doesn’t release until the beginning of next year! Delays have been constant in the Star Wars Universe. Luckily for us, Grogu’s journey with his father-like figure is far from over. We might even see little Grogu become the leader of Mandalore and be the first Jedi-Mandalorian to wield the dark saber since its original owner had it! 

Whatever the outcome is, I’m sure we will enjoy some more cute Grogu moments, whether he is using all his might to toss around stormtroopers or spitting up while Mando is flying him around in his Naboo Starfighter.
